Warbirds Over the Murray

  • Tocumwal, New South Wales, 2714 Australia (map)

THE WARBIRDS COME HOME.

Warbirds Over the Murray is a two-day warbird airshow at Tocumwal, on the New South Wales side of the river, on 18 and 19 September 2027.

In 1942 Tocumwal was the largest airbase in the Southern Hemisphere and the biggest the RAAF has ever operated. Liberator crews trained here. After the war, hundreds of aircraft were flown in and broken up on the same ground. One of the original 1942 hangars is still standing.

Presented by Paul Bennet Airshows in partnership with the Tocumwal Aviation Museum, the show brings warbirds, aerobatics and formation flying back to the airfield across a full weekend for the first time ever.

With Warbirds Downunder off the calendar, there’s a gap where Australia’s big warbird weekend used to sit. Warbirds Over the Murray picks up where it left off, promising the biggest lineup in the event’s history at one of the most historically significant airfields in the country.

Tocumwal is just three hours north of Melbourne, with 25 river beaches, red gum forest, a 36-hole golf course, and a town built for holidays. Come for the flying, stay for the weekend.
